And this evening on NPR’s Fresh Air, Terry Gross interviews Jeff Sharlet about his new book,C Street, focusing on Sharlet’s investigation into the influence of American evangelicals in Uganda, reporting that was supported by The Investigative Fund, now known as Type Investigations. It was a Ugandan member of parliament who introduced the bill that would penalize homosexuality with life imprisonment or death, but the idea traces back to a secretive American evangelical movement known as The Family.
