Muriel Alarcón

Muriel Alarcón is a Chilean journalist working as a freelance reporter from Santiago, Chile, and is an academic research assistant at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Journalism School. She is a regular contributor for El Mercurio and La Segunda, two of Chilean’s major newspapers. She holds a master of arts degree, focused on science and health, from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. This last year, she was a fellow for the Global Migration Project at Columbia Journalism Investigations and reported on Latino communities in New York City as a grantee of Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and Fundación Gabo. Her work has also been published in New York Magazine's GrubStreet and Univisión.
